Lotse is operated by The Trustee for the Aly Boo Family Trust trading as Lotse (ABN 70 204 274 606), Queensland, Australia. In this notice, “we” and “us” means that trustee.

Lotse is not released yet. This notice covers this website and the Lotse waitlist. We will update it before the app is available.

This website

The website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The pages are served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver them and protect the site from attacks. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser fetches them.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this site, we keep:

  • your email address
  • when you signed up, when you confirmed, and when you unsubscribed
  • the page you signed up from and the wording shown next to the form when you did
  • a scrambled (keyed hash) form of your IP address, so we can limit repeated signups

We use these to send you a link to confirm your place, then one email when Lotse is ready and the odd update before then, to show that you asked for those emails, and to stop abuse of the form. We do not use them for anything else and we do not sell or share them.

The list is kept in our own database on a server in Sydney, Australia. Two services process it for us:

  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, Sydney region) sends the emails.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is being filled in by a person. It loads only when you start using the form, and Cloudflare sees your IP address and some details of your browser to do the check.

How long we keep it:

  • If you never confirm, we delete your details 30 days after we sent the confirmation email.
  • If you unsubscribe, we delete your details 30 days later. Until then they are kept only so we don’t email you again.
  • To limit repeated signups we also keep a short log of scrambled IP addresses and scrambled email addresses, which we delete after 2 days.
  • Otherwise we keep the list until 12 months after Lotse launches, then delete it.

To leave, use the unsubscribe link in any email from us. To have your details deleted straight away, email [email protected].
